Kept you waitin, ha?
This one took forever, but without further ado, here is some info.
It's my entry for DamaiMikaz's Comfort-break challenge! [WIN POINTS!]
Oh boy, comfort zones were definitely brutally beaten with this one.
I think it's the first time ever where I drew a complete scene with a full background, multiple characters and objects/vehicles. It was something entirely new and challenging. The perspective and angle were something that was beyond my comfort zones as well, especially when it came to the perspective of positioning multiple things in relation to each other. And drawing fire, which has always been my weakness, I made sure not to half ass it this time. Character wise, I tried to give them more dynamic poses as I've received a critique recently telling me my pieces are rather static, so I tried my best to remedy that in this one.
This drawing is also a redraw of The Riot. from last year. As you can see though, I took a lot of liberties with the composition and the general scene, as I was hoping to push myself outside of my limits and create something much more interesting that actually tells a part of the story.
And now... can you spot a sniper?
